What is your link to Omaha and Phoenix?

Gunhee, our founder, is originally from Omaha. He is an alumnus of Mount Michael Benedictine High School.

Why are you based in Omaha and Phoenix?

We began an office which focuses on customer service and operations . Our goal is to continue to develop talent in both places, while also employing team members across the nation that are enthusiastic in our cause.

The business was founded in 2016. In 2017, our first full year, we did $550K. In 2018, we are projected to do $1M in revenue.

How did you acquire startup capital?

We have grown the business through reinvesting our profits and are 100% bootstrapped. In 2018, we are seeking to do $1M in revenue.

Is it bud?

CBD is derived from hemp, which isn’t marijuana. The classification of industrial hemp can be found in the 2014 Farm Bill, which can be defined as the following:

Industrial hemp is the non-psychoactive, low-THC, genetically distinct forms of the plant Cannabis sativa. Hemp has no use as a drug. Section 7606 of this Farm Bill defines industrial hemp as “the plant Cannabis sativa L. and any part of such plant, whether growing or not, with a delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol concentration of not greater than 0.3 percent on a dry weight basis.

How is it not bud?

Marijuana is grown with techniques that produce a potency of THC in the product. Hemp is used for a number of purposes including food, textiles, and a number of other materials, outside CBD oil, and isn’t grown this manner. Every order from Populum includes third party lab results showing exactly what is on your CBD, and we always guarantee that it is less than.3percent THC.

Do you believe in marijuana legalization?

We would not get in the argument for marijuana legalization. We are a strong advocate for separating hemp, as a crop and support.


How do you socialize with/give back to the Phoenix/Omaha community?

We’ve got an initiative in our business to contribute part of our earnings quarterly to different non-profit organizations. We feel that an important part of providing a health product is ensuring that it is imperative to ensure every person, and that we are fulfilling our passion for helping people has a chance at being in good health. Most recently, we contributed an Arizona-based nonprofit that provides courses for living with chronic conditions, to Empowerment Systems, as well as coaching.

How do you believe ASU helped prepare you to begin this company?

W.P Carey offered lot of opportunities to take on leadership roles and to grow professionally. Surrounded and the college, being part of Barrett helped to be constantly challenged by open-minded and ambitious individuals.

How do we know it is safe?

Part of our process is to run a laboratory test with each batch we formulate each month. A copy of the lab report is included in every order, showing what is on your hemp oil.

How did you begin?

Gunhee Park, our founder , first picked up a jar of CBD oil. He was initially skeptical, but after using it found it became a part of his everyday supplement regimen. After that, rsquo & Gunhee;s mother she had to give up hiking, her favorite activity, because she was having pain in her knees. Gunhee wanted to help. After a few months of using topical and a CBD oil , to their surprise, her inflammation subsided. Seeing his mother back to the hiking trail established rsquo & Gunhee;s religion that hemp could be a lasting solution for everyone.
