Man sentenced to 12 years in prison for two armed robberies of same Denver pot shop

One of four men charged with marijuana shop robberies in Denver pleaded guilty Thursday and was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

Tayone Givens, 21, pleaded guilty in Denver District Court to two counts of aggravated robbery, one count for two different robberies of the identical business. He had been sentenced to 12 and 10 years in prison, with the terms running concurrently, according to the district attorney’s office.  Restitution, as part of the sentence, will be decided at a later date.

Givens and codefendants were charged in a July 28, 2017, armed robbery of the Green Dragon marijuana store, 5130 E. Colfax Ave., where money and marijuana products were robbed.
