NTRR Eyes Texas To Lead The Nation As A Model Of Medical Pot Reform

Unlike other states that have passed new laws through ballot initiatives, Texas voters cant change cannabis legalization the issue has to go to state legislators and several reform bills are already slated for debate when the Texas State Legislature reconvenes in 2015.

In anticipation of a legislative change in Texas, NTRR executives attended two cannabis events in Houston earlier this month. Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy hosted Is Texas Ready For Medical Marijuana? , which brought together leading regional experts who discussed the therapeutic promise and legislative possibility for medical cannabis in the Lone Star State.

More than 100 potential investors gathered for two days in Houston for the city’s first Marijuana Investment Conference , an opportunity for cannabis business owners and entrepreneurs from around the country to pitch their ideas to investors.
