Two Charged With Selling Synthetic Marijuana Out Of Cocoa Gas Station

Police said synthetic marijuana use is a growing trend. In a similar incident in October, Orlando police busted a clerk at a Sunoco gas station who was accused of selling synthetic drugs.

“I think they should do something about it. Where we’re from, we had several people that were killed from that,” Necaise said.

Authorities said producers of the synthetic drug slightly change its chemical makeup to work around the law, which can make it deadly. Police said in Wednesday’s case the owner of the food mart and his partner claimed they didn’t even know it was illegal.

“Ignorance is not an excuse for breaking the law,” Martinez said. Hijleh and Adili have been charged with felony possession and sale of synthetic marijuana. Both are in the Brevard County Jail awaiting a court date.
